All TV Stands have a fiberboard back to help stablize the units.

Note: the lower center shelf is fixed and divided upper and lower

LOWER: : 23.75”W x 19”D x 7”H

Additional: there is a .75" thick shelf that can be placed in the upper compartment, above the fixed shelf. It can be adjusted for height every 1.5"
